Grandparents' Day!
We loved having our special visitors come in and visit for the afternoon! We used this opportunity to share two of our readers' theatre scripts we have been working on. We also had our guests join us for a building challenge. Thanks so much to all of our guests who took time out of their days to come and visit!

Pete Week
Mid-Prairie East Elementary celebrated our Literacy Week this year with a Pete the Cat theme. It was an awesome week that provided our young readers with many different and fun experiences with books and reading! Thanks to our school, families and many community groups that supported us as we continued to learn the joy that reading brings!!
The week started with some Cozy Corner reading, during which students were able to find any spot in the building where they could enjoy some independent reading time.
Our first grade crew was looking good on Farmer Day!
The library was loaded down with book choices and each students was able to take home a new to them book thanks to the support of our East Elementary families!

Pet Day!
As part of our PBIS program our kiddos are rewarded when they are caught demonstrating respectful, responsible and safe behavior throughout the school with tickets. We have a seperate container in our classroom which is used to collect all the tickets students receive in the classroom for their great choices. As the cup begins to fill, students brainstorm and vote on a classroom reward. Students were thrilled at the idea of bringing their pets to school! It turned out to be a joyful day of learning all around! MANY thanks to our first grade families who took time out of their lives to bring in their pets or send pictures to share! We have the best families!
Greeting each other during our morning meeting with our adopted pets for the day!
Our fluffy friends brought us MANY smiles!
Rolling out some dog bones for our snack!

Day 100
We enjoyed celebrating our first 100 days of learning and playing together last Friday! Many students enjoyed dressing as if they were 100 years old. We had several opportunities to practice counting to 100 throughout the day. Check out your child's Seesaw account for a picture of one of our counting projects!
